Time Up!

We were on the move at 8am this morning, 1st time in 3 months but we've not gone very far, just a few hundred yards into the basin.
 I'm waiting for part of my prescription to turn up at the chemists, hopefully later this morning then we shall leave Llangollen. The electric ran out at 11.50 last night :( we were recording 'Those who kill' which was due to finish at midnight but Mark's checked it & we've only missed the very end so that's okay otherwise no point in watching it if we didn't find out who done it!
We are back in cruising mode, the electric heaters have been stowed back under the bed & the electric blanket unplugged,  back to the hot water bottles ;)
I've not taken any photos today as yet so here's some from our last walk, up the Berwyn Way & round Geraint Hill, gosh it was a steep climb up out of Llangollen, it made me puff & blow a bit but once on the tops it was worth it.

Llangollen, 12 days left...

Yes well I know posts have been a bit thin on the ground, we have just been plodding along in semi-hibernation mode added to which Mark has had a stinker of a cold. I am half expecting to get it as well but it's been 2 weeks & no sign yet, fingers crossed.

We had a day out in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, it's only 15 mins on the bus &  then a 30 min  train journey, we had a cracking day, the sun shone although a chilly wind blew the cobwebs away.

We popped into the Shrewsbury Market Hall to pick up a pair of gloves as I'd forgotten mine & what a pleasant surprise, lots of interesting stalls, much more than the usual collection of cheap clothes stalls, The Birds Nest Cafe on the balcony enticed us in for a spot of lunch, they only have a limited menu (tiny food prep area!) but what they do have is delicious & very reasonably priced, I had mackerel & prawn salad, Mark had broccoli & stilton soup, (says it's the best he's had)  the coffee & walnut cake was yummy so we can certainly recommend them if you're in Shrewsbury.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Manchester to help Eric celebrate his 16th birthday

Gosh, 16! doesn't really seem that long ago I was sat by his cot in hospital when he was a new born, he was born with a condition meaning some of his intestines were protruding from a hole in his abdomen & had surgery the night he was born. It was a bit rocky for a few weeks but look at him now...

 We have less than 2 weeks left in Llangollen, we have enjoyed our time here but will be ready for off, will probably miss the umbilical cord  (shore power) at 1st but cruising again will make up for it.
